Dental Insurance

If you are paying for dental insurance and need dental treatment or are not seeing a dentist regularly, take advantage of your dental plan this year before your dental benefits expire. Unlike true insurance plans, dental plans are designed to be used each year. If you don’t use the benefits you have paid for all year, the insurance company keeps your benefit money for themselves and you lose the opportunity to claim your reimbursement for dental work, dental exams, and cleanings.

The end of the year is a perfect time to use your benefits.

• If you need treatment that will exceed your maximum benefit, you can take care of some of it now and then finish the rest in January so that you don’t have to wait a full year to have strong, healthy, cavity-free teeth.
• If the treatment you need will not go over your maximum benefit, get it taken care of now, and you’ll have your full maximum available in 2018 in the event additional treatment is needed. New cavities, a broken tooth, jaw joint pain, grinding at night, or changes in your dental insurance, can all cause unexpected expenses. If you’ve taken care of the work you know you need already, you have one less thing to worry about and all of your benefits available to use toward any new treatment needs.
